City of Renton Duvall Avenue NE Project - Infrastructure Improvements to Widen Lanes, Underground Utilities, and Safety Features
The Duvall Avenue NE project includes widening Duvall Avenue NE/Coal Creek Parkway SE to five lanes (including a center two-way left-turn lane for most of its length) from the NE Sunset Boulevard (SR900)/Duvall Avenue NE intersection to the SE 95th Way/Coal Creek Parkway SE intersection, and adding curbs, gutters, sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides of Duvall Avenue NE. Overhead power lines will be relocated underground. The project will cost about $15 million and construction began in June 2008.
To complete the improvements, Duvall Avenue NE/Coal Creek Parkway SE is closed to through traffic between Sunset Boulevard (SR 900) and SE 95th Way for about one year.
